Fawad Chaudhry invites opposition to evolve consensus on military courts

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday once again invited the opposition parties to sit together to evolve a consensus on military courts to act decisively against terrorism, ARY News reported.

“The National Action Plan was agreed upon by all political parties of the country and needs to be implemented in unison,” Fawad Chaudhry said while addressing Dosti Sports Festival in Khewra near Pind Dadan Khan.

He said successful operations against terrorism had largely eradicated this menace from the country and the sporadic terrorist attacks could not break our will against the scourge.

The federal minister said whole Pakistan was in grief over the targeting of the Hazara community members in Quetta. He said terrorist attack in New Zealand last month demonstrated that no country was immune from violence.

He said the government had taken concrete steps to bring the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) into mainstream after the successful military operations. He said an amount of 100 billion rupees would be spent on reconstruction and development of erstwhile FATA for the next 10 years.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the government was committed to make Pakistan a prosperous country with a bright future, and it was only possible when corrupt elements were taken to task.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had brought a new foreign policy and soon Pakistan would lead the whole region. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was being recognised an important leader of world stature who was leading the country towards a prosperous future.

He said $60 billion loan had been taken in last 10 years. Whenever they were inquired about that money, they would say that democracy was in danger, he said taking a potshot at the opposition parties.

Fawad Chaudhry said during investigation it was revealed that money laundering was carried out in the name of Manzoor papad wala. He said money was sent in Manzoor’s name from Dubai to Hamza Shehbaz.
