ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said the nation should participate in the tree plantation campaign that has been launched to make Pakistan a green country.

“Pakistan is on the most affected countries by climate change and it is facing massive deforestation,” he said after planting a sapling under the 10 billion Tree Tsunami program in Islamabad on Sunday.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has inaugurated the Urban Tree Plantation campaign today by planting a sapling in Haripur district. 1.5 million saplings will be planted across the country.

Fawad said that campaign will be continued time to time till achievement of 10 billion trees plantation goal.

PM Imran said the drive was aimed to tackle challenges posed by climate change as Pakistan will be largely affected by global warming if such steps were not taken.
