KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said such rulings should be announced in the country against which nobody could raise a finger, ARY News reported.

“Bloodshed has been carried out against people’s mandate. They have been robbed of their opinion. I have been disgusted of hearing since 1993 that the looted money will be brought back,” he said in a reaction to arrest of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, while talking to media.

He said whoever tried to raise his head, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) hit him with baton.

Fazl said only politicians’ accumulated wealth was talked about in the country.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Shehbaz Sharif in Rs 14 billion Ashiana housing society case.

He was served summons many a times and he appeared today to record his statement where he was taken into custody by NAB officials.

Shahbaz’s blue-eyed officers, Lahore Development Authority former director general Ahad Cheema and Fawad Hasan Fawad, are already in NAB custody in the Ashiana Housing case.

Fawad Hasan Fawad, former principal secretary to ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in his statement before NAB in August claimed that he had awarded a contract to a “favourite firm” in the Rs14bn Ashiana Housing project on Shahbaz’s behest.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said those who had plundered public exchequer should be held accountable.
