Three FC personnel martyred in North Waziristan landmine blast

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: At least three personnel of the Frontier Corps were killed when a landmine went off in North Waziristan near Pak-Afghan border on Sunday.

According to security sources, the landmine planted in Ghulam Khan tehsil of the tribal agency exploded when the vehicle of the personnel ran over it. As a result, three personnel were killed.

Soon after the blast, rescuers arrived at the site and shifted them to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

A contingent of security forces also reached the site of the blast and cordoned it off for security reasons. A search operation was launched in the adjoining areas to look for culprits.

Earlier on Dec 22,  three Frontiers Corps soldiers were martyred when armed men fired across the Pak-Afghan border in Mohmand Agency.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the terrorists fired from across the border on FC troops busy in construction of a new border post at Shunkrai in Mohmand Agency near the Pak-Afghan border.

The soldiers who embraced martyrdom include Lance Naik Irshad Hussaim, Havaldar Muneer Khan, and sepy Haq Nawaz Khan.

FC troops responded and killed five terrorists while as many were injured. The terrorist fled and were seen carrying back dead bodies and the injured.

“Pakistan paying price of Afghan forces’ capacity lack / ungoverned spaces on Afghan side of the Border,” said the military’ press wing.
