Fida Hussain, hailing from Bahawalpur, had his land in the district which was occupied by a local Patwari. Hussain said he approached all relevant authorities to seek justice, but to no avail.

He subsequently arrived in Islamabad and protested outside Prime Minister House. The man, during the protest, sprinkled petrol and sat himself on fire.
He was moved to Polyclinic Hospital for treatment in an injured condition.
