“Finance Minister Ishaq Dar is not fulfilling his constitutional responsibilities. The federal government had promised to give Rs561 billion which has not yet been fulfilled. The following financial year, Rs112 bn of Sindh are due on the federal government as Sindh was given Rs382 bn rather than Rs494 bn,” he said while addressing post-budget news conference in Karachi.
He said the provincial government was paying special heed to education sector. Over Rs178 billion have been allocated for education sector in the budget.
Murad Shah said law and order was also one of the main priorities of the government and over Rs82 billion had been earmarked for this purpose.
He said compensation for the heirs of martyred police personnel had been increased to Rs5 million from Rs2million.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said the government was also focused on providing healthcare facility to the masses.
He said work on Thar Coal Power Project had been accelerated, which would go a long way in overcoming the power shortage.
The minister said government contractors would be given exemption in sales tax.
