Firdous Awan denies corruption charges against her

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Firdous Ashiq Awan denied all the allegations leveled against her by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). She referred to it as political victimization by the present Nawaz-government.

The former minister claimed to quit politics and publicly admit her fault, if a single corruption charge was proven against her.

She further suggested that no efforts should be made for saving the current government; it should rather be pushed to meet its logical end.

Moreover, the PPP leader claimed to hold the press conference upon the advice of party chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Earlier on Monday, NAB had decided to start investigation against Firdous Ashiq Awan, Azam Khan Hoti, Qasim Zia and Muahmmad Ishaq.

NAB’s Executive Board meeting presided by chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry had decided to start corruption investigations against former federal minister Firdous Ashiq Awan, ANP senator Azam Khan Hoti, former chairman of Pakistan Hockey Board Qasim Zia and former MNA Muhammmad Ishaq.

The charge against Awan was of illegal appointments and keeping 12 government buses in her private use.
