Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor never fails to amaze his fans in one after another movies as after swashbuckling acting seen in the trailer of biopic on Sanjay Dutt, now Ranbir is going to play a dacoit in Yash Raj Film’s upcoming venture Shamshera.
The first look of the period drama appears fabulous showing the protagonist leading a large gang of warriors.
Playing a dacoit has always been intriguing in Indian film industry from Sunil Dutt’s character in Mother India to Amjad Khan as Gabbar Singh in Sholay and Irrfan Khan in Pan Singh Tomar.
Ranbir on his part appears a dreaded character with a striking beard, long hair, grungy black band around his forehead, a sharp axe in one hand and a bunch of arrows in another, a perennially tempestuous gaze and a thundering tone.
The flick is directed by the maker of Shuddhi and Agneepath, Karan Malhotra.
Though nothing more has so far been revealed about the film, however, sharing his personal thought on the movie, Ranbir said, “Shamshera is exactly the film I was looking for. While growing up watching HIndi commercial cinema, I had an image of what a film hero should be doing. Shamshera allows me to do everything that I had imagined and it’s a very exciting project for me. Karan is going to take me completely out of my comfort zone and I am looking to this challenge.”
Tentatively, shooting of the high-octane adventure film Shamshera will begin at the end of 2018 and last till mid of 2019.
Let’s see how Ranbir’s a never seen before avatar really turns out when the movie hits the cinemas.
