First ODI: SL sets Pakistan target of 276 to win

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field in the match. The game started 15 minutes late due to a wet outfield.

The game was reduced to 45 overs per side due to the weather conditions in the match.

Sri Lanka, batting first, made 275/7 in the innings.  Captain Angelo Mathews led his side from the front as he scored 89 runs from 85 balls whereas veteran Mahela Jayawardene made 63 runs from 66 balls. Ashan Priyanjan contributed 39 runs from 15 balls.

Wahab Riaz was the stand out bowler for the Green Shirts as he took three wickets in his nine overs whereas lanky pacer Mohammad Irfan grabbed two wickets in the innings. Mohammad Hafeez took one wicket.
