Bath: Bath is one of few cities which celebrates birth of jesus and Jane austin in same night. The Theatre Royal, which was mentioned by Austin in “Northanger Abbey” and “Persuasion,” is the home of musical celebrations which is accompanied by mince pies and mulled wine in honor of the literary doyenne at this big evening of Christmas. Bath is also famous for its 18-day Bath Christmas Market that has over 170 wooden chalets selling distinctively British handmade crafts in a quaint Georgian setting. It is a season’s favorite market for all the visitors. Bath is the only city in United Kingdom that have been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
London: After Bath comes London, it is the city to visit in Christmass season. London is a place to take your family as it has numerous attractions like ice skating at the 1000 year old historical tower of london. Kids love to visit Hogwarts of Harry Potter at Warner Bros Studios in London not only this but London is also famous for its huge christmas market and Hyde’s park winters Wonderland.
Nuremberg, Germany
The Nuremberg Christmas market in Germany is not only a market but an institution that attracts more than 2 million visitors every year. This place is famous for selling all the traditional handmade toys and commodities on this festive season. Highlights of this place include a giant carved wooden Ferris wheel, old-fashioned carousel and steam train. The especiallities of Nuremburg are the traditional supper Nuremberg spicy gingerbread and mugs of mulled wine. This place also has Toy Museum for kids and the German Railway Museum is a hit with everyone.
Valkenburg, The Netherlands
Valkenburg in Netherlands is a perfect destination for christmas holidays. This is also known as the christmas city as people can see parades and explore various places including the Velvet Cave, which morphs into a Christmas market and Santa’s residence where Santa’s room is filled with gifts and his pet reindeer. They also have some historical setup in places like cavern houses sculptures, an eighteenth century chapel and they have also preserved mural drawings that are of Roman Era. The special train ride called the Christmas Express that runs regularly between Simpelveld and Valkenburg pulls many visitors.

New York is the city to visit in Christmas season. The city is famous for its famed ice rink that has been there for 78 years they have an 81 year old traditionally decorated tree there. Radio City in New York hosts the amazing annual Christmas party starring the Rockettes. Rockefeller Center lies at the core of the New York Christmas. The city completely goes crazy in this season that evey corner of it has its own unique way of celebration.
San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
Mexico city is the place to celebrate christmas, the celebration starts on 16th December when church bells, fireworks and children swinging at piñatas kick off Las Posadas in this colorful mexican city. The locals at the midnight of 24th reenact the journey of Bethlehem their tradition by dressing up in Mary and strolling through door to door to find shelter. Piñatas and poche are the famous mulled fruit drink that is being offered there in the long evening. This place is also designated as World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its grand Churches.
