Five ‘dangerous militants’ arrested from Karachi

Crime Investigation Department officials launched a targeted raid in Kunwari Colony and arrested extremely dangerous militants during the operation.

Police recovered huge cache of weapons, explosives-laden motorcycle and petrol bombs. A 7-kg of explosives was also seized from the possession of criminals.

According to police, terrorists had planned to carry out a suicide attack on Ashura processions. The arrested militants, identified as Azam Ahmed Sheikh, Shah Jahan, Imran Hussain, Farhan and Shakir, were also involved in sectarian killings.

Sources told that a hit list was also found from militants’ possession, which showed that they wanted to target police officials, politicians and other key figures.
