KARACHI: At least five people were killed and six others injured when a dumper truck collided with a passenger pickup at the ICI Bridge here in the wee hours of Wednesday, ARY News reported.
According to the sources, an over-speeding truck ran over a pickup while a bike came in between the collision which resulted in causalities of at least five people.
All dead and injured were shifted to nearby hospitals. The hospital sources confirmed that three people died on the spot due to over-bleeding while declaring the condition of three injured as out of danger.
Police officials apprised media that the statements of injured and eyewitnesses have been recorded and investigation of the incident was underway.
According to eyewitnesses’ account, the mishap took place due to lower visibility and over-speed.
The dead bodies were later handed over to the families after completion of formalities.
The Suzuki van which carrying people, was thoroughly damaged in the incident. The ill-fated van carrying people returning after visiting the shrine of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi. The car and motorbike partially damaged in the mishap.
Trailer driver escaped from the scene after the deadly accident.
