FO reacts to Indian condemnation on Lakhvi’s release

TOP NEWS

FO Spokesperson Tasneem Aslam, responding to query regarding the remarks of Indian spokesperson about Lahore High Court orders for release of Lakhvi, said it was not appropriate for the neighbouring country to subject Pakistan to criticism on its efforts against terrorism.

She reiterated that the case of Lakhvi was still subjudice. Pakistan has entered a crucial stage in its fight against terrorism, she added.

She was of the view that unnecessary delay in cooperation by India in the case complicated the matter.

Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, accused over the terror siege in Mumbai on November 11, 2008, was released late on Thursday, according to an official at Adiyala Prison in Rawalpindi, close to Islamabad.

India slammed the release as an “insult” to the victims of the three-day onslaught on its financial capital, which was blamed on the banned Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
