Early winter fog has engulfed plains of Punjab, disrupting the flow of traffic and causing mist-related traffic incidents. At some places in Faisalabad the visibility level has reached to zero.

Fog is a natural phenomenon and
is formed when water vapours in the air begin to condense into liquid water near the surface. The fog does not occur across the whole country but only plain areas experience this phenomenon, particularly Punjab.
A study by the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) says that not only motor vehicles but coal-fired power stations in neighboring Indian state of Punjab also adding this to Pakistan’s Punjab.
The experts also said that increasing population and industrialization in this region has also intensified the frequency of fog.
