KARACHI: Following the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by the Supreme Court authorities removed his photos from the airports of the country. His name has also been stricken off the website of the National Assembly.

The Supreme Court bench on Friday disqualified thrice-elected Sharif in a unanimous verdict in the Panamagate case, thus cutting short his third stint in power. Soon after the SC judgement, the PM House issued a statement saying that Nawaz Sharif, despite having reservations on the court verdict, has relinquished the office of prime minister.

Following the verdict, the relevant authorities started putting down the pictures of the former prime ministers at Jinnah International Airport, Allama Iqbal International Airport and Benazir International Airport.

His name has also been removed from the National Assembly’s website following the Election Commission of Pakistan de-notifying him from the membership of the assembly.
