CHAKWAL: Former Supreme Court of Pakistan judge Justice (retired) Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed passed away on Wednesday, ARY News reported.
The former judge passed away after suffering a heart attack, confirmed family members. His funeral prayers will be offered in Chakwal today at 6:00pm.
The jurist retired from the Supreme Court of Pakistan on 25th March 2022. He was elevated to the apex court on 24th September 2019 after being appointed by President Arif Alvi.
Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed was born on 26th March 1957 in Chakwal. He completed early education from Government High School and Government Degree College Chakwal.
He obtained a law degree from the University Law College in 1980 and was enrolled as Advocate in 1981.
He joined a Doctoral Program in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam and completed collateral programs in International Law and International Relations at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague in 1985.
Qazi Amin Ahmed started law practice in the year 1986. He enrolled as Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1997. He remained member of visiting faculty of International Islamic University Islamabad from 1986 to 1991.
He remained Member Punjab Bar Council from 2000 to 2004. He served as Additional Advocate General for Punjab from September 2007 to June 2009,
Qazi Amin Ahmed was elevated as Judge of the Lahore High Court on 7th November 2014 and took oath of office as Judge Supreme Court of Pakistan on 24 April 2019.
