Army jeep plunges into river near LoC, four martyred

RAWALPINDI: Four Army personnel aboard a vehicle fell into Neelum River on Sunday as a result of Indian forces’ unprovoked firing, ARY News reported.
The media wing of Armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the Army men were travelling through Neelam Valley in a jeep along the river near the Line of Control.

The ISPR said one body was recovered while rescue operation for the other three was underway.
The media wing added Pakistan army troops responded befittingly to Indian firing to silence their guns.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned Indian forces’ firing on Pakistan Army jeep resulting in drowning and martyrdom of four army personnel, Radio Pakistan reported.
The PM expressed deep grief and condolences with bereaved families of the martyred personnel.
He the prompt response by Pakistan Army in thwarting the attack.
The ceasefire violations from the Indian side along the LoC and Working Boundary have become a norm.
Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire agreement, investigate the incidents of ceasefire violations and instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit for peace at the LoC.
