Intelligence sources raided the house of a person named Mukhtar locared at Khushab’s village of Saambh and arrested him, his wife Aasma, his daughter Khaula and a female named Abeera.
Abeera’s husband Ali fled during the raid. Suicide jackets and explosives were also recovered during the raid.
Intelligence sources said that Mukhtar had bought the land from a landlord named Akhtar Abbas and left for Waziristan with his family. He returned to the district four months ago.
It was said that the arrested suspects are affiliated with a terrorist organization and had acquired training from the tribal areas. They had planned to carry out a major terrorist attack in Punjab.
