Muhammad Irfan seemed to be the pick of the bowlers, though a little expensive. The lanky paceman collected three scalps from his 10 overs and conceded 50 runs. Anwar Ali finished up with two wickets whereas Pakistan’s spin wizard Yasir Shah,  Rahat Ali and Imad Wasim finished up with one wicket each.

If successful in their run-chase, Pakistan will clinch a much-needed series win to qualify for the eight-nation Champions Trophy.

Pakistan Skipper Azhar Ali said his side was all prepared. He added he’s playing the same team. “We want to focus on doing the right things and keep the plans simple. Everyone is putting their hands up in tough situations and are doing well.”

Sri Lanka must win the day-night match at the Premadasa stadium to stay afloat in the five-match series which Pakistan leads by a 2-1 margin.

Ninth-ranked Pakistan are seeking a series win to remain in contention for a place in the eight-nation Champions Trophy in England in 2017.

Sri Lanka, currently ranked fifth, are assured of taking part in the tournament.
