ResizeKasur: A timeline of Kasur’s Zainab rape and murder case, the 7 year old girl who was mercilessly kidnapped, raped, strangled to death and thrown in a garbage heap by Imran Ali, her neighbor.
January 4th– Zainab went missing
January 9th– Zainab’s dead body was found from a garbage heap 100 meters away from her house
January 10th– Zainab’s funeral prayers were offered
The same day Chief Justice Saqib Nisar took suo moto action of the incident
January 10th -Countrywide protests erupted
January 11th– DNA matched
January 23rd– Prime suspect Imran Ali arrested
February 13th– Imran confessed to not only raping Zainab but 4 other girls; all aged 7.
February 14th– Imran Ali’s lawyer refused to fight his case after his own confession
February 17th, 2018- Imran Ali rewarded death sentence and Rs 4.1 million fine
October 17th, 2018- Imran Ali hanged in front of Zainab’s father
Justice served.
