According to a FC spokesman, the extremists opened fire when the security forces and intelligence agencies were returning after recovering weapons during a joint operation in the area.
Two terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire. FC officials added that the slain terrorists were involved in target killings, attacks on security forces and other terrorism activities.
Two sub-machine guns and hand grenades were recovered in the operation.
