Full court reference to pay homage to outgoing CJP on 17th

ISLAMABAD: A full court reference will be held at the Supreme Court of Pakistan on 17th of this month to pay homage to outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar.

CJP-designate Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council, president Supreme Court Bar Association and Attorney General of Pakistan will attend the event.

Justice Khosa will assume charge of the office of the country’s top adjudicator on 18th of this month in a ceremony at the President House in Islamabad. On Jan 2, President of Pakistan Arif Alvi approved the nomination of Justice Khosa as CJP. He will remain as the top judge of Pakistan till December 20, 2019.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, who assumed his office on December 31, 2016, is set to retire on 17th of this month.
