Funeral prayers of Dr Khalid Soomro offered in Larkana

According to details, Dr Soomro’s funeral prayers were offered at the Municipal Stadium, Larkana, which were attended by the brother of the JUIF chief, Maulana Attaur Rahman, former CM KP Akram Khan Durrani, Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery and Hafiz Hussain Ahmed.

Leaders from the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and a large number of people also attended these prayers.

The JUIF has given a call for countrywide ‘Day of Mourning’ today over the killing of Dr Soomro, who was considered one its prominent leaders and was quite active politically.

Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro was shot dead in Sukkur on early Saturday morning. Police told that Dr Soomro was gunned down by unknown persons after offering Fajr prayers at a mosque here in Sukkur.
