PESHAWAR: The funeral prayers of Army Captain Zarghaam, who embraced martyrdom while neutralising an Improvised Explosive Device (IEC) in Mohmand today, was held at Peshawar Cantt.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood, ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor, provincial ministers and government officials attended the funeral prayers.
The mortal remains of the martyred army officer were dispatched to his native town for burial with full military honour.
Earlier today, ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet said 25-year-old, Captain Zarghaam Fareed was martyred as he was neutralising an IED detected at Mohmad Gat in Mohmand District. Sepoy Rehan of the bomb disposal squad was critically injured in the explosion, he added.
