Gillani urges Gov't to revamp ties with US

MULTAN: Former Prime Minister, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has urged the Government to revamp its relations with the United States (US), mentioning that his government suspended the NATO supply for 7 months over the US attack on Salala check post and no drone attack occurred during that period – ARY News reports.

Talking to media at Multan airport on Monday, the ex-PM stated that we have declared drone attacks against the sovereignty of the state, negotiations are the last way out of every dispute in the entire world and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) supports talks.

Responding to a question about Hakimullah Mehsud’s killing, he told that the Government can better answer about the situation after the killing of TTP’s chieftain, PPP has already given the mandate of talks to the Government.

Gillani further urged the Government to review its relations with the US and to discuss all the issues.

Commenting on the Local Body (LB) elections in the country, he said that the polls are going to be held on party-basis in all the provinces, whereas in Punjab these are being conducted on non-party basis, which clearly indicates the purpose of rigging.
