LAHORE: Following the retirement of Inspector General (IG) Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera after 30 years of his services, the federal government on Wednesday has appointed Captain (Rtd) Muhammad Usman Khattak as acting Inspector General of Punjab Police, ARY News reported.
The new incumbent will serve for 90 days until a permanent police chief of the province to be appointed.
Earlier on April 10, Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera retired from his services after completing 30 years of his police service.
The government has notified the appointment of Muhammad Usman Khattak as the acting IG of Punjab.
Captain (retd) Usman Khattak has mostly served in Punjab during his service.
He has assumed his charge as the police chief of the province.
