Govt to compensate affected families of Hazara community: Shehryar Afridi

ISLAMABAD: Condoling with families of the victims of the Hazarganji bombing, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Tuesday said that the government would compensate the affected families of Hazara community, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference here in Islamabad, followed by his visit to Quetta, Shehryar Afridi said that the government was committed to implement the National Action Plan and added that a committee, comprising of experts, had been established in this regard.

He said that they would take practical measures to ensure implementation of NAP and added that the government was responsible to protect the lives and property of the people.

The minister said that the government would not compromise on law and constitution and added that the groups, which were causing disgrace for the country would be taken to task.

He said, “People of Balochist are patriotic and love with the country.” The minister said that there was no room for discrimination in Naya Pakistan.

Earlier, at least 20 people had been killed and several others got injured, on April 14, in a blast at Quetta’s Hazarganji sabzi mandi.

DIG Quetta Abdul Razaq Cheema had confirmed the casualties and added that eight of the victims were belonging to the Hazara community.

After being informed about the incident, the rescue workers had reached the spot and moved bodies and injured to Bolan Medical Centre. Security forces had cordoned off the site of the blast and collected evidence.
