ISLAMABAD: Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf on Friday said that the government is planning to bring national seminaries into mainstream through educational reform.

The federal minister said that they are taking religious scholars on board to streamline the system and make adequate changes in the curricula of madrassas and to allocate adequate budget for them.

Sardar Yousaf met with the Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Baligh-ur-Rehman to discuss the measures for improvement and effective implementation of National Action Plan (NAP).

The federal minister of education stated that the federal and provincial governments are working together as no one can achieve positive goal alone.

Both ministers agreed that that a uniform education system should be brought in madrassas which could benefit seminary students, who could play a vital role in development of the nation after completing their education.

They also discussed various measures such as upgrading curricula of seminaries to make them compatible with schools.  Both stressed the need to check and abolish hate speech and publications promoting sectarian disharmony.
