Govt. fails in National Action Plan enforcement: Qureshi

SEHWAN: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the government has failed in full enforcement of the National Action Plan (NAP), ARY News reported on Saturday.

Talking to media during his visit of Sehwan, the PTI vice chairman said that only the interior minister could not be held responsible for this failure.

Qureshi said that he arrived to extend his condolence and solidarity with the shrine over the terrorist attack.

“These abodes of peace and love could not be shuttered down,” the PTI leader said.

“People visit shrines to get healing touch for their wounds of mind and heart not for the sake of terrorism,” he said.

The PTI leader requested the government of Sindh to ensure better treatment of the people injured in the attack.

He also demanded the governments of Sindh and Punjab to open the shrines, which have been closed by the authorities.

He said the terrorism could not be curbed with sealing the shrines. It is government’s duty to provide security, which could not be achieved with locking down the shrines.

The elements targeting the people should be confronted vehemently and not appeased with gestures of conciliation, he added.
