Govt taking measures to provide speedy justice to masses: President Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Monday said that the government was taking all possible measures to provide speedy and inexpensive justice to masses.

Talking to Federal Ombudsman Syed Tahir Shahbaz, who called on him at Aiwan-i-Sadr today, President Alvi underscored the need for use of latest information technology tools in service delivery by the institution.

He underscored the need for broadcasting regular programs on media for a country-wide dissemination of information.

Federal Tax Ombudsman, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera also called on President Dr. Arif Alvi in Islamabad today and presented the annual report 2018 to him.

On this occasion, the president said that Federal Tax Ombudsman had an important role towards the resolution of complaints of aggrieved against the decisions of tax collecting apparatus.

He appreciated the launching of e-based complaint management information system which provides paperless office environment.

The president also lauded FTO’s efforts for starting focused SMS and email campaigns to reach out to Taxpayers. Dr. Arif Alvi said integration of FTO’s CMIS with FBR will improve its efficiency.

He emphasized that there was a need for further steps for creation of awareness about the efficacy of the forum.
