'Gov't , Opposition united against undemocratic moves'

ISLAMABAD: Countrywide protests call by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), has brought the Government and Opposition on a same table. The Minister of Defence, Khawaja Asif and Opposition Leader, Khursheed Shah have agreed upon staying firm at a democratic system in the country – ARY News reports.
According to detail, PMLN-led Government is soon to complete its one year after coming into power, whereas PTI and PAT have announced to take out rallies all over the country on May 11, as a sign of protest against bad governance and persisting issues.
With this, a meeting between the Minister of Defence, Khawaja Asif and Opposition Leader, Khursheed Shah took place here on Wednesday.
Both the leaders pondered upon the rallies announced by PTI and PAT, and possible situation due to these. An alleged strain amongst the national institutions of the state also came under discussion by the statesmen.
On this occasion, Khursheed Shah said that Parliament is the supreme institution of the country and no step will be supported that could hurt the dignity of the Parliament.
He clarified that the elected representatives of the people of Pakistan, will not be subjected to the undemocratic desires of anyone.
Sources told that, Khawaja Asif while supporting the stance of Khursheed Shah, agreed upon consulting each other for the sake of political harmony in the state.
