Peshawar: Pakistan is rich in its mineral resources, especially when it comes to marble rich country. The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Government has sketched a plan to establish marble city in Buner.

The government has allocated Rs100 million for this massive project in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2013-14 against total cost of Rs300 million, according to official sources.

This step is taken so as to centralize and shelter industrial sector, which will add up to increase in marble factories in Buner. Its basically the need of local industries.

He said Buner is famous countrywide

for its quality marble, which represents 51 percent of the country’s production. Of the 700 marble factories located in Malakand Division, 500 are in Buner alone, while raw material to all factories is also provided from this small mountain valley.
