Govt summons 3000 FC men to Islamabad

Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have joined hands and called their supporters to participate in the long march on Islamabad.

The government has summoned 3000 personnel of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) and other forces to Islamabad to thwart the marchers.

The government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had earlier invoked Article 245 of the constitution to deploy military troops in the federal capital to assist the civil administration in maintenance of law and order in the city.

Security high alert has been declared in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

On the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali 350 military troops and 3000 FC personnel have been called apart of 14,000 policemen and 2100 Rangers men to maintain law and order in the capital city on August 14.

Rawalpindi Police has also been kept on alert, which can be called if required.

Surveillance cameras have been installed in the red zone of Islamabad for monitoring of the security situation.
