On the occasion, PM Sharif said the martyred APS children laid foundation of enlightenment in country and the purpose of this decision is to pay homage to them.

“The enemy is sowing hatred and extremism, but we will fight them back through education and enlightenment,” he said.

He said the survival of the homeland is connected with martyrs’ memories and the intolerant masses don’t want our children to acquire education.

The enemies only want hatred and extremism in country, but we will not let them succeed in their wicked motives, the premier resolved.

On Dec 16, 2014, Taliban militants waged a deadly attack at APS Peshawar killing 132 children and nine staffers.

Security forces gunned down seven attackers in the operation, while a few were hanged after their arrest in different raids.
