Cameron Green lambasted on live TV after he makes chucking gesture for Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq

LAHORE: Former Pakistan batter Ramiz Raja was not pleased with the Australian’s antics, saying players need to deal with what is in front of them rather than complain as Australian batter Cameron Green appeared to be making a gesture widely interpreted as an accusation of “chucking” after being dismissed by Usman Tariq during the second T20I played in Lahore.

“Well, you have to got to deal with it. It’s as simple as that. That is the wrong way of looking at things,” Raja said on air while talking about Green’s antics.

Usman Tariq was officially cleared on May 7, 2025, after undergoing a bowling action assessment at the PCB-accredited biomechanics lab in Lahore. This specific clearance followed a report from on-field umpires regarding a suspect action during a Pakistan Super League (PSL 10) match between the Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi on April 13, 2025. After the report, the Quetta management requested the formal test, and the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that his delivery extension stayed within the legal limits, allowing him to resume bowling.

This was the second time Tariq had to navigate the clearance process, as he had previously been reported during PSL 9 in 2024 and was cleared following a review at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Known for his unorthodox baseball-style delivery and a distinct pause at the crease, Tariq has explained that a unique anatomical condition causes his arm to appear bent naturally. As of January 2026, he remains an active and legal part of the Pakistan national setup, with his mechanics having been verified multiple times to be within the ICC’s 15-degree limit.

Green was batting confidently before being dismissed for 35 runs in Usman Tariq’s very first over. The breakthrough came when Shadab Khan completed a catch off Tariq’s delivery, ending Green’s innings and giving Pakistan a crucial wicket.

As Green walked back towards the pavilion, cameras caught him making a gesture widely interpreted as an accusation of chucking, a moment that quickly drew attention from fans and commentators alike.
