Swing Swing Submarine has announced that hand-painted puzzle-adventure game ‘Seasons After Fall’ will be released on PlayStation 4 on May 16.
Game designer William David made the announcement on blog post about the game published by Focus Home Interactive.
Players take the role of wild fox and are sent on perilous journey aided only by the ability to change the seasons at will. They can pounce through a wondrous land governed by magic and nature, dance with the elements as they dynamically switch between the seasons.
Winter freezes waterfalls, while the rain from spring raises water levels. Switching to summer causes plants to grow and extend, while fall brings mushrooms to bloom, creating new platforms to climb.
Switching between seasons offers a constantly changing, fresh aesthetic, visually altering charming hand-drawn world around. This has a meaningful impact on game play, and opens unique new ways to explore the forest and uncover the truth about the Guardians.
Enhancing the captivating atmosphere of ‘Seasons After Fall’ are the enchanting sounds of the live string quartet that accompanies on the journey. This unique soundtrack was composed and recorded just for the game, and David is one of the features they are most proud of.
Each of the seasons drastically alters the environment and it will be up to gamers to change the world and open new paths, and discover the secrets of the forest of Seasons After Fall.
