Punishing heatwave continue to persist in country's plains

KARACHI: Punishing heatwave continues to torment people amid prolonged power outages as hot and dry weather  persists in the plains of Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh, ARY News reported.

According to the meteorological department’s forecast very hot and dry weather is likely to persist in Punjab, upper Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa and Baluchistan with no sign of rain in the coming days.

Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, DI Khan, Bannu, Sibbi, Sukkur and Larakan  will continue to reel under sizzling temperatures.

Karachi is expected to experience hot and humid weather with mercury rising to 37 degrees centigrade, whereas Lahore will reel under the sweltering temperature of 42 Celsius degrees centigrade.

Balochistan’s Sibbi district will be the hottest with temperature going up to 48 Celsius, whereas the temperature will soar to 47 degrees centigrade in Rahim Yar Khan. The temperature in Shaheed Benazirabad, Padidan, Larkana, Nokundi will remain at 46 degrees centigrade.
