High security, uninterrupted power supply during Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar

HYDERABAD: The management of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has announced to provide uninterrupted power supply at Sehwan from today till May 8 during Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

According to a statement issued, the Chief Executive Officer HESCO has directed the formation of special teams of operation and construction wings which will encamp from May 4 (today) at Sehwan town and ensure the implementation of directives aimed to facilitate the devotees of Dargah Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar during Urs celebrations.

The Superintending Engineer Laar Circle Altaf Mirani and Executive Engineer Kotri Division Riaz Ahmed Pathan will personally monitor the performance of these special teams.

The HESCO management has also dispatched 22 power transformers, service wires, and other necessary goods to Sehwan in order to provide temporary power connections in the area during urs celebrations, the announcement said and maintained that no one would be allowed to steal power through illegal connections.

The HESCO management has made all such arrangements in consultation with the Commissioner Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro and the officers of Auqaf Department.

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja also ordered top police officials to adopt high-security measures for the Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

The IGP instructed officials to strengthen security on all the highways, border areas, and entry-exit points of the province, as a large number of devotees from other provinces expected to participate in the annual Urs. He instructed for strict surveillance and patrolling at police station level throughout the province.
