According to details, the slain couple resided in a house which was located at Karachi’s Orangi Town area. The husband and wife were killed by unidentified persons who entered their house and opened fire on them. Police suspected it to be a case of honour killing and also revealed the ages of the deceased to be between 20-22 years old.
It was also revealed that the couple belonged to Waziristan. Police were at the scene of the crime and obtaining statements from eyewitnesses. The dead bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
In Pakistan, women and various couples are killed in the name of honour if they decided to marry by choice or elope. Recently, Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy won an Academy Award for the Best Documentary-Short Subject for her film A Girl In The River: The Price Of Forgiveness.
