The 52-year-old Gowariker has said that he likes to research on his subject even if it takes time. Recently he attended a program at the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) in Mumbai where he spoke of his ambitious film:

“I always do the research myself. I read all the books on the subject that I am going to adapt and understand the era myself. It can take a long time but it prepares you well,”

Gowariker has taken more than three years to develop the film with the help of archaeologists who documented the discovery of Indus Valley civilisation. The film is slated for release on 12th August, 2016.
