HSC examination starts in Karachi amid strict measures to curb cheating

KARACHI: The examination of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) kicked off in Karachi from Monday (today) amid stringent arrangements to bar cheating mafia from using any wrong means during exams. 

As per details, over 2,15,000 students were taking exams at 188 examination centers. Besides, strict security measures against cheating, media coverage of examination was also banned by the authorities.

Out of 188 centers, 59 were declared extremely sensitive.

The commissioner office of Karachi has set up two monitoring cells for the intermediate exams.

In a bid to discourage use of unfair means in examination, the provincial government has imposed section 144 around the examination centers in Karachi.

On April 1, matriculation examination was conducted in the metropolis and across Sindh. In Karachi alone, 3,67,606 students of Science and General Group took exams in a total of 365 examination centers across the city.

During secondary school exams, there had been reports of leaking of a paper on WhatsApp in the interior Sindh.

Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah had warned of action against those involved in leaking of the matriculation examination paper in Sindh, while also calling for the civil society members, who were updating Facebook status, to step out into the field to eradicate cheating culture in exams.
