Numerous celebrities, including Humayun Saeed, Ali Zafar, Bushra Ansari, and Resham were conferred the President’s Pride of Performance Award as well as the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz on Pakistan Day on Tuesday.
The awards, recognizing the stars’ contribution to performing arts in the country, were first announced on the nation’s 74th Independence Day.
Veteran actor Sakina Samo and scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil were also awarded the President’s Pride of Performance Award alongside Saeed, Zafar, and Resham, while actors Bushra Ansari and Talat Hussain received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Other well-known recipients include Abida Parveen who was awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz.
Taking to Instagram to mark the moment, Zafar wrote, “My dear friends, supporters, and well-wishers. I would like to thank you all from my bottom of my heart for your love.”

Film star Resham penned a note saying that the moment felt like a dream to her. “This moment feels like a dream… a dream that my God has turned into a reality. This isn’t just a Pride of Performance Award, it is the fruit of my hard work that my God has granted me an opportunity to taste,” she said.
