RAWALPINDI: Disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday spoke to media for the first time since the July 25 general elections and claimed that he is still a part of PML-N, ARY News reported.

According to ARY News correspondent, the former interior minister said that that he is still a part of PML-N and the party has a bright future.

He, however, added that “situation would have been different”, if former PM Nawaz Sharif would have paid heed to his advice.

It is pertinent to note here that long time PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar contested July 25 polls as an independent candidate on four seats – NA-59 (Rawalpindi), NA 63 (Taxila) and Punjab Assembly’s PP-10 and PP-12 on ‘jeep’ symbol.

Nisar, however, could only manage to win the PP-10 Chakri seat.

During a number of election rallies, Nisar had openly expressed his differences with the PML-N’s central leadership and had expressed anger over the fact that he was asked to apply for party ticket.

“I was asked to apply for the party ticket but I refused for I haven’t done it in past 34 years of my association with the party,” Nisar had said during a rally.

About the advice, Nisar had mentioned that he had asked Nawaz not to attack judiciary after the Panama verdict “but seek justice from it”.

He lamented that the former PM’s so-called well wishers landed him in trouble.
