Irrefutable evidence behind arrest of Sabri’s ‘murderers’: Umar Khattab

KARACHI: SSP Counter-Terrorism Department Raja Umar Khattab has claimed that the suspects arrested in Amjad Sabri’s case were introduced as the qawwal’s killers after irrefutable evidence was found about their involvement in the murder, ARY News reported.

Speaking exclusively to ARY News after the Chief Minister’s presser, Khattab expressed confidence that the police has irrefutable evidence that the arrestees Asim Capri and Ishaq Bobby were behind the famed qawwal’s murder.

He said that it was necessary that the family members of Sabri should find solace after the assassin’s arrest and  for this purpose he will personally visit the family and satisfy them.

He revealed that Additional IGP CTD had personally supervised this high-profile case and examined all evidence, after which the department informed the Chief Minister Sindh.

He added that the Chief Minister was also convinced that the information and evidence leading to those arrests was credible, which led him to address the press conference himself.

Khattab accepted that the evidence was also admissible in court and expressed confidence that the cases will reach its logical conclusion and that justice would be served.

He said that they also looked at that angle as the target killers of political parties were also active in the area where Amjad was assassinated.

Talha Sabri, the brother of Amjad, while speaking on the same show, welcomed the arrests of the killers and said that the SSP CTD was welcome to visit them and take them into confidence over the arrests.

Amjad Sabri was killed on 22nd June in Liaquatabad Town. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday said several people had been arrested including Asim alias Capri who is alleged to be part of a proscribed outfit.
