Ibad terms governorship tough test, leaves for Dubai

KARACHI: While leaving for Dubai today, former governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad termed the tenure of his governorship a tough test, ARY News reported.

Former Chief Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui has sworn in as the 30th Governor of Sindh today replacing Dr Ishratul Ibad.

Ibad did not bother to remain for even a single day in the country where he has served for around 14 years as a governor. He left for Dubai through an international airline EK605. The last night he paid visit at Quaid’s Mausoleum and offered Fatiha.

Talking to journalists at Karachi airport prior to leaving, he said he had received much love from the people. He also extended apology to anybody who got hurt and had any complaint from him.

“I am grateful to the military and civil leadership for their cooperation and will continue serving for Pakistan,” he said.

The decision to remove Dr Ibad from his position was taken during a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad recently after which a formal notification for Justice (retd) Siddiqui’s appointment as Governor Sindh was issued on Thursday.
