ICC ODI Ranking: Misbah promoted to 9; De Villiers at 1

DUBAI: Captain of National cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq has got the promotion to ninth rank from 10 in the latest issued ICC’s ODI ranking for batsmen while AB de Villiers, the South Africa captain, has regained the No. 1 spot, ARY News reported.

De Villiers has replaced Indian batsmen Virat Kohli at the top and now leads both ODI and Test rankings for batsmen.

Furthermore, opening batsman of South Africa, Quinton de Kock, who was the leading run-getter in the ODI series against India and broke the record for most runs in a three-match bilateral series, jumped up 61 places to land at a career-best 14th place in the rankings.

Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal remained at the top of bowlers list while Dale Steyn rose up three places to second in the bowlers’ ODI rankings after taking six wickets in the two matches he played in and Sunil Narine of West Indies at third.
