Imran Khan lashes out at PPP for replacing IG Sindh

TALAGANG: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday lashed out at the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and said inspector general of Sindh police has been changed because he did not let them commit wrong, ARY News reported.

“We have no future till we get united to fight against corruption. Police may only work efficiently when there is no political interference,” he said while addressing a public rally in Talagang.

He said the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) had brought reforms in police. Hiring in police were made on merit. If anyone wanted to see real change just compare KP police with others. The PTI posted an honest IG in KP who disciplined the institution, he added.

Upon request of the Sindh government, Allah Dino Khawaja has been relieved from the post of inspector general of Sindh police on Saturday. Additional Inspector General of Sindh Police Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti has taken temporary and additional charge of IG Sindh police.

Khawaja was removed as the IG Sindh because he was stopping others from committing illegal activities, said the PTI chief.

Imran said the nation had realized today that corruption was a national issue. Taking debts from banks and getting them write off is also corruption, he said.

 

Taking the PPP to task, he said PPP leader and former Sindh minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who is involved in Rs5 billion corruption, was felicitated with floral necklace and gold crown upon his arrival from abroad.

“Where did Co-Chairman PPP Asif Zardari got money for Sarai Mehl,” he questioned adding “The complete structure of Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Peshawar was built for Rs4 billion, on the other hand a single person consumed Rs460 billion.”

He said former petroleum minister and PPP leader Dr Asim was accused of embezzlement of Rs460 billion. He requested that the nation should stand their ground against corrupt person regardless of his affiliation with any political party.

Commenting on the verdict reserved by Supreme Court of Pakistan on Panama Leaks case against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members, he said he was also eagerly waiting for the court verdict on Panamaleaks case just like the masses.

“Insha Allah Pakistan will witness change as Panamagate case result will be announced soon,” he said.

He also said conspiracy was being hatched against Muslims. “We should not become part of others’ wars.”
