IHC adjourns hearing of Musharraf court immunity petition

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearings of the case of former General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf for immunity from attending court hearings, ARY News reports on Monday.

Akhtar Shah, petitioner and President of Pakistan Social Justice Party (PSJP), told the court that Pervez Musharraf is not accountable to any court and enjoys immunity under the article 248 of the constitution.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that the petition is not directly affected by the court proceedings and Musharraf should file the petition himself. He added that the objections filed on the petitions should be removed.

The petitioner pleaded to the court that he should be given more time to remove objections made on the petition as he had just arrived from Lahore and is short of time.

The court accepted the plea of the petitioner and adjourned the hearings till 3rd January.
