IHC extends interim bail of seven suspects in fake accounts case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday extend the interim bail of seven suspects in fake accounts case, ARY  News reported.

A two-member bench of IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani resumed hearing of different petitions filed by the suspects involved in fake accounts case.

During the course of proceedings, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor apprised the court that Hassan Ali Memon was arrested for awarding illegal contracts and added that currently he was in Karachi jail.

The court extended the interim bail of two suspects, Sajjad Hussain, and Abdul Samad Subhan till May 30 while the bail of Khawaja Namar Majeed, Haresh, Ali Abro and Ajaz Khan by May 28.

Earlier on April 28, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had apprehended two bank officers in fake bank accounts case in Karachi.

The NAB Rawalpindi team had took two bank officers, Sher Ali and Muhammad Farooq into custody over their alleged involvement in fake accounts case.

NAB officials had said that the bank officers had been arrested on the charges of providing tampered record to the anti-graft watchdog and their alleged corruption and involvement in approval of loan for Park Lane Estates Pvt Ltd.
