ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has ordered to provide security to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan as a former prime minister, ARY News reported on Thursday.
As per details, the written order was issued by Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Amir Farooq which stated the plea was filed by the PTI chief Imran Khan as a former prime minister.
The Attorney General said that on every court appearance security is provided to Khan and the threat assessment committee provides security as per the intensity of threats, he added.
The court order stated that the recent attack on Khan should also be considered when providing security to him. The security measures are effective but just on paper.
PTI chairman’s security arrangements should be re-analyzed, the court written order stated.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) sought a response from the federal government in a plea moved by the former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan for revoking his security.
He said he has no trust in the incumbent government and asked the Supreme Court (SC) to ensure his security during his appearances in the court.
It is pertinent to mention here that Khan and several other PTI leaders were injured after a man opened fire near the PTI reception camp at Allahwala Chowk during the party’s long march.
In the shooting on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s container in Wazirabad, a party worker was killed and six people including Imran Khan were injured.
